Around a round table with shared or individual mics, conversation sounds calmer than a single phone on the kitchen table. Podcast engineer Noah Jansen often handles routing, monitoring and the first edit so you stay on questions and story.

Podcast recording at Mushyvanta fits hosts, duos, panels up to about four people and teams that want clean audio without building a mobile rig. We are in Amsterdam-West, reachable via Tram 13 stop Bellamyplein (5-minute walk). Bus 22 stop Bilderdijkstraat. From Amsterdam Centraal about 15 minutes on tram 13 towards Amsterdam Sloterdijk., with Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–22:00; closed Monday and Sunday. Evening sessions by appointment. for day and evening blocks.

€99 covers studio, table routing, engineer and a basic edit/export per booking. Longer cut sessions or season batches can run at €65 per edit hour when multitrack already exists.

Process

Brief
Describe episode length, host count, remote guests (on your tool) and exports (WAV, podcast MP3). We respond within 2 business days with a plan.
Sound check
Before rolling: levels, pop protection, headphones where needed, silence test. Remote guests join your platform; we capture local voices in the studio.
Record
The engineer watches overload and marks retakes. Breaks are built in — talking is tiring. Four seats at the table is the comfortable max.
Edit and export
Basic edit: trim long silences, remove obvious flubs, one combined mix plus optional stems. Heavier production (beds, ad inserts) is quoted separately.

Which shows fit?

Interview shows, news dailies, internal company updates, non-profit stories and pilot episodes for networks. Not scripted fiction with a full cast — conversation and documentary talk.

Minimum age 16; minors need parent/guardian consent. Read podcast rights and releases before guests sign or agree on mic.

Studio layout

The podcast corner uses table mics, a small mixer and face-to-face seating — no need for the 42 m² live room for talk. Daylight from windows; evenings use quiet warm light without buzz on the track.

The building has 3 rooms; band and podcast sessions do not overlap in the same zone. Band recording stays separate from talk setups.

Remote guests

You run Zoom, Riverside, SquadCast or similar; we do not supply ISDN. Local hosts sound clean; remote quality depends on their internet. Ask remote guests to use headphones and a quiet room.

Studio-only is our model — fully remote production with no one on site fits less well. Hybrid (one person here, rest remote) is common.

Edit levels

€99 includes light edit: ums can stay or go partly, per the brief. €65 per hour is for existing multitrack: tighter cuts, chapter markers or repeated exports at several bitrates.

No automatic transcription in the base rate; no custom jingle writing. We can underlay your licensed intro/outro if rights are cleared.

Delivery

Default: stereo MP3 (128–192 kbps) plus 48 kHz WAV archive. Per-host stems on request. File names follow your season/episode scheme.

Delivery usually within three business days after recording for basic edit; edit-only jobs per batch agreement. Storage 12 months unless extended per terms.

Need loudness aligned to a platform target (e.g. −16 LUFS stereo)? Say so in the brief; light adjustment is often part of the basic edit, heavy dynamics work bills as extra edit hours.

Rights and privacy

You are responsible for music, news clips or brand names in the show. Guests must know they are recorded; you disclose sponsors.

Personal data in show notes or forms follows the privacy policy. Processing guest lists for brand clients may need a data processing agreement.

Combine with other services

Sung podcast intro? Book vocal recording separately. Full jingle production is outside the podcast hour. Music mix via mixing; final loudness via mastering.

FAQ

What fits in one booked hour?

One hour is table time including setup and short edit notes. A 45-minute conversation plus buffer often fits one hour; an hour of talk plus heavy edit may need two blocks (studio + €65).

Do you shoot video?

We focus on audio. A static camera for social clips is fine if silent and agreed upfront — no fan noise.

Same-day publish?

Same-day export sometimes works for simple episodes when the calendar allows, but we do not guarantee a fixed publish slot. Rush may cost extra.

Guest cancels ill?

Move the session. Cancellation is free up to 7 days ahead; inside that window deposit rules in terms apply.

RSS and hosting help?

We deliver files; you choose RSS/hosting (Anchor, Transistor, etc.). Tips live in the guides; we do not operate your feed.

Can we book a recurring slot?

Weekly or bi-weekly blocks are possible within Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–22:00; closed Monday and Sunday. Evening sessions by appointment. when the calendar allows. Series bookings may use a 30% deposit; cancellation rules still follow terms and conditions.
